Day 01 // Delhi:
Arrive in Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. Traditional welcome with fresh flower garland and transfer to hotel. Overnight in hotel.
Day 02 // Delhi:
After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of New Delhi - Qutub Minar- its construction was initiated by Qutubudin-Aibak in 1199 CE upon becoming the first Sultan of Delhi; second Mughal Emperor Humayun's Tomb - its architecture may have influenced the construction of the Taj Mahal in Agra; Baha'i Lotus Temple - this distinctive lotus shaped marvel in marble is a symbol of peace; India Gate (the war memorial), Parliament House and Presidents House (from outside). In the afternoon stop by the Red Fort for photography from outside - the massive sandstone fort built by Shah Jahan on the banks of river Yamuna, Jama Masjid - is the largest mosque in India and stands across the road from the Red Fort, built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan 1648 CE. About 20,000 people can pray here at a time. Overnight stay in hotel in New Delhi.
Day 3 // DELHI - AGRA (165 Kilometers or 103 miles in 2 hours):
After breakfast transfer by air-conditioned chauffeur driven air-conditioned car to Agra in about 2 hours. After exiting the Yamuna Expressway stop at the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah. This is the mausoleum build under supervision of Empress Nurjahan for her parents, Mirza Ghiaz Beg and Begum Asmat. Mirza Ghiaz Beg received the title of Itmad-ud-Daulah or ‘trusted by God’ by Emperor Jahangir. Upon arrival check in to the hotel. Afternoon proceed for sightseeing tour of Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The elegant palaces in the fort reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu & Islamic architectural styles and Emperor Akbar's tolerant religious philosophy. Later marvel at the fine craftsmanship at a marble factory where traditional artisans still work using similar hand operated implements that their forefathers had used more than 300 years ago when they worked to build the Taj Mahal. On the way to hotel visit Agra’s oldest and best marble inlay factory, which is a virtual museum. Some of the work done by their artisans is much finer and delicate than the inlay art work in the Taj Mahal itself. Overnight stay in hotel in Agra.
Day 4 // AGRA:
Wonder at the world famous Taj Mahal in the glow of morning sunlight. There will be ample time to admire the harmonious architecture of this mausoleum, that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After breakfast visit Sikandara, the tomb of Emperor Akbar. In the afternoon enjoy an excursion to the deserted capital of Mughal Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri, a one hour drive west of Agra. Overnight stay in hotel in Agra.
After breakfast transfer to train station to board Shatabdi Express to Jhansi. On arrival transfer to Orchha for lunch and sightseeing of Fort and two Hindu temples. Drive further to Khajuraho. Overnight in hotel.
After breakfast sightseeing of Hindu and Jain groups of temples. After lunch transfer to airport to board Air India flight AI0405 at 3.15 pm to arrive in Varanasi at 4.10 pm. Transfer to hotel. Later view the Ganga Aartee at Dasaswamedha Ghat. Overnight in hotel.
Day 07 // VARANASI:
Before sunrise boat ride on Ganga River. Later sightseeing of Sankat Mochan Hanuman and Durga temples. After lunch sightseeing of Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, Durga Temple and the Bharat Kala Bhawan Museum in the Banaras Hindu University Campus. Overnight in hotel in Varanasi.
After breakfast drive to Sarnath, the birthplace of Buddhist religion. Lord Buddha preached his first sermon to his initial five disciples to initiate the “Dharmachakra” or the wheel of religion at this site more than 5000 years ago. Sightseeing of the archaeological site as well the site museum. Later transfer to airport to board the Spicejet flight at 12.30 PM to arrive in Jaipur at 2.05 PM. Transfer to hotel. After check-in sightseeing of Maharaja of Jaipur’s City Palace and Sawai Jai Singh’s astronomical observatory, popularly called Jantar Mantar. Overnight in hotel.
After breakfast drive to Sawai Jai Singh’s walled, historical city of Jaipur and stop at Hawa Mahal for photographing. Drive further to Amber, the ancient capital of Kacchwaha Maharajas for a royal elephant ride to the hilltop palaces of Mirza Raja Jai Singh and Maharana Man Singh. After sightseeing return by Jeeps. In the afternoon sightseeing of Jaigarh Fort. Later transfer to airport to board the Spicejet flight at 6.40 PM to arrive in Udaipur at 7.50 PM. Transfer to hotel for overnight.
After breakfast sightseeing of Maharana of Udaipur’s City Palace. Later walk through Tripolia Gates of the palace to Jagdish Temple for sightseeing. In the afternoon boat ride on Pichola Lake and sightseeing of Jag Mandir Island Palace. Later transfer to airport to board the Indigo flight at 7.15 PM and arrive in New Delhi at 8.45 PM. Transfer to hotel for farewell dinner and later drive to Indira Gandhi International Airport for the return flight.
